For the fifth time in a row FRANK FLUEGEL GALERIE in Kitzbuehel shows new works of the American street artist Mr. Brainwash under the title "Streif is Beautiful".
The exhibition with well-known works such as Everyday Life - Follow your Dreams will open on December 15, 2022 and will be on display in Kitzbuehel until March 15, 2023.
Parallel to the solo show, Thierry Guetta aka Mr. Brainwash will open the Mr. Brainwash Art Museum in Los Angeles. The former Museum of Television & Radio in Beverly Hills, designed by star architect Richard Meier in 1996, will be transformed into a space for his own work and that of other artists.
The exhibition in Kitzbuehel will feature his major works "Einstein - Love is he Answer", "Banksy Thrower", "Balloon Girl", "Juxtapose", "Never Never Give Up" or "Charlie Chaplin". Original unique pieces on paper in mixed media and stencil technique but also paintings on wood, steel or concrete. As always at Mr. Brainwash with lots of spray paint under the motto "Life is Beautiful" which was renamed here to match the famous ski race track in "Streif is Beautiful".
Like every year FRANK FLUEGEL GALERIE shows street art works in the winter season in the Gamsstadt below the Hahnenkamm. The previous exhibitions were sold out within a short time, because mostly owners of larger chalets and properties on the Bichlalm, on the Lebenberg or on the Schwarzsee furnish their new domiciles with art. In addition to investment considerations, of course, you also buy the artworks simply to look at.
Born in 1966 as Thierry Guetta in Garges-lès-Gonesse near Paris, he has lived in Los Angeles since the age of 15. In 2008, the first exhibition "Life is Beautiful" took place in Los Angeles and quickly became a crowd puller with more than 50,000 visitors.
In his documentary film "Exit through the Giftshop", Mr. Brainwash accompanied the street art legend Banksy at work. Through him, he got into the street art scene and began creating art himself. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in 2011. Mr. Brainwash, however, unlike Banksy, revealed his identity and quickly rose to superstardom in the street art scene. The exhibitions of Thierry Guetta, Mr. Brainwash's real name, became crowd pullers, Madonna commissioned him to design the album cover "Celebration".
In February 2010, the second exhibition "Life Is Beautiful: Icons" opened in New York on 1,400 m2 and was sold out after a few days.
From that moment on, Mr. Brainwash was a phenomenon, a superstar who conquered the art world with his originals at record speed. Numerous exhibitions followed in England, Germany, France and most recently in Seoul.
He also designed album covers for Rick Ross, and entered into collaborations with Nike, Mercedes-Benz and Coca-Cola. Mr. Brainwash also held an audience with Pope Francis in Rome and was invited to collaborate with former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama on the artwork for her foundation "Let Girls Learn. He is represented at Art Basel every year and Mr. Brainwash also teaches at two prestigious universities, UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) and Columbia University in New York.
FRANK FLUEGEL GALERIE has represented the artist Mr. Brainwash in German-speaking countries since 2012 and has also shown his artworks in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Sylt. In the branch in Kitzbühel, works by Mr. Brainwash have been presented regularly during the winter months since 2018.
After the auction record in London for a Balloon Girl by Banksy at Sothebys, street art is increasingly becoming the focus of collectors. Collectors are not necessarily always interested in a unique piece, but also in editions as long as they are original. Whether collectors buy Mr. Brainwash pictures as an investment or for aesthetic reasons is of secondary importance, although the pictures are far too beautiful to simply serve as a capital investment.

FRANK FLUEGEL GALERIE with locations in Nuremberg and Kitzbuehel is focused for over twenty years on high quality originals of pop art, street art and contemporary art.
The art collector will find original artworks, prints and unique pieces by Adam Handler, Alex Katz, David Shrigley, Kenny Scharf, Hunt Slonem, Mel Bochner, Nathan Paddison, Fanny Brodar, Mel Ramos, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol or Julian Opie at realistic prices. But editions and prints by Harland Miller, Katherine Bernhardt, Tom Wesselmann, Sean Scully, Gerhard Richter, Ross Bleckner, Allen Jones, Thomas Ruff, David Gerstein, Peter Doig, Jeff Koons, Tracey Emin, Raqib Shaw and Robert Longo are also on sale.
Likewise, other hot street art artists represented in the gallery include Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta) , XOOOOX, Punk Me Tender, BAMBI, Fringe Southafrica, Max Mavior and John Crash Matos.
Of course, the gallery also has design objects for sale by Maurizio Cattelan, Paul Smith, Richard Orlinski or Philippe Starck or Pierre Jeanerette.
Exhibitions are held in regular rotation in the centrally located gallery spaces in Nuremberg and Kitzbuehel. In the online store, collectors can buy the artworks around the clock. International fair participations and solo shows complete the program.
Many of the offered artworks can be bought and taken away by the collector immediately, because they are in stock. Due to high demand, prices of some artists can be expected to rise. Works can rise in price (this development in value is quite desirable for the investor) and old prices can lose their validity.
